The Joyce Brothers, Patrick Weston Joyce (1827 - 1914) and Robert Dwyer Joyce (1830 - 1883), were famous Irish poets, writers, and collectors of traditional Irish music. 104 years since the death of Patrick Weston Joyce, the Joyce Brothers' Weekend music and arts festival returns to Kilfinane, Co. Limerick after 20 years, from Friday 16th - Sunday 18th March 2018 to commemorate and keep alive the memory and spirit of the Joyce Brothers in the local area.
The Weekend Festival includes an Informative Talk on the History of the Locality during the Joyce Brothers Era, Top Quality Live Concerts and Sessions; Exclusive Workshops and Guided Tours of the beautiful Ballyhoura area. Our Festival Information page has the full schedule.
Our Weekend Festival features exclusive music and singing workshops conducted by some of the country’s most renowned traditional musicians, who will offer practical classes, teaching music and songs from the Joyce Brothers' collections.
Angela Hennessy will open the weekend with a talk on the history of the locality during the Joyce Brothers' era.
